ABOUT

Room Review came into being in 1984 after a spell designing sets in theatre and television. Susanne completed a four year BA (Hons) course at what was then Trent Polytechnic (now Nottingham Trent University). She has always loved buildings and has a passion to save them from demolition, mis-use or, worse, poor design concepts!

In the mid '90s, wishing to understand her subject in greater detail, she took a year out to take an MA in Conservation of Buildings at The King's Manor in York, studying the interiors of Sir John Soane in particular.

When living near Guildford, work tended to be gathered around the depths of the Surrey Hills and South London but now, having re-located to Dorset, her work has moved there too.

Susanne looks at the whole of the project - not just the detail - thinking 'outside the box' For example: it might be better to relocate the kitchen to the other end of the house rather than trying to make it work where it is. Anything from a re-arrangement, a de-clutter, updating the colour scheme or a completely new build can be considered.

Always willing to chat through a client's ideas and see where they lead...
